Experience the Quiet Luxury Side of Phuket at This Elegant Retreat

Far from the bustle of downtown Phuket, on its serene northwest coast, Trisara unfolds as a retreat that feels at once deeply private and distinctly Thai. The name translates to “Garden in the Third Heaven,” and it lives up to the promise.

The resort’s thirty-nine villas are designed to blur the line between indoors and out, especially as you transition from your comfortable bed to the edge of your private infinity pool in a matter of minutes. Floor-to-ceiling windows wash the space in light, while warm wood, rattan textures, and local stone add both textural interest and distinctly Thai design features.

Those who have journeyed to Thailand before won’t be surprised to find that the hospitality here feels genuine and gracefully understated. Staff are incredibly welcoming, and their attention to detail is evident in small moments, such as a perfectly chilled juice waiting at breakfast or artfully arranged fruit platters that beg for a photo.

Speaking of—dining is definitely one of Trisara’s greatest draws. PRU, the resort’s signature restaurant, holds both a Michelin Star and a Green Star for sustainability (the only restaurant in southern Thailand with that distinction, by the way). Its tasting menus celebrate ingredients sourced from Trisara’s own farm and the surrounding region, crafted into beautiful and creative dishes. Jampa, the resort’s sister concept nearby, doubles down with its zero waste, farm-to-table vibes. More casual options, including La Crique, Thai Library, and Cielo & Spice, provide plenty of variety for longer stays that don’t even require you to leave Trisara’s halo.

The spa sits in its own quiet corner above a cove, with al fresco treatment rooms. There, experience rituals that are rooted in Thai healing traditions, from herbal compresses to restorative oil massages. Beyond wellness, guests can spend the day swimming laps in the stunning saltwater pool by the beach, practicing Muay Thai, or venturing out by private boat to explore the surrounding islands.
