Hotel Snapshot
Meet Avali, southeastern Corfu’s newest boutique, all-inclusive, coastal stunner—its name translates to “small bay,” a fitting nod to its perch between lush mountains and a paradisal, sandy-pebble shoreline along the glimmering Ionian Sea. An infinity pool commands the scene, while the beach bar hums with a chic, sun-soaked beach-club energy. Avali is the laid-back child of Mar-Bella Collection, an independent Greek hotel group with other properties on the island and one on the mainland.
Design & Character
Avali’s design language is a masterclass in curated coastal elegance—organic textures, sun-washed neutrals, and architecture that frames the Ionian Sea with effortless sophistication. Every detail has been meticulously considered, from the furniture to the decorative accents. All pieces were custom-designed for the hotel by in-house interior designer Irini Antonopoulou in collaboration with trusted artisans and suppliers. Handmade ceramics by Iocasta in Athens bring Irini’s vision to life in the reception wall installation and the bespoke tableware across the restaurants. Italian craftsmanship shines in the decorative Cheetah and Moorish Heads, while lighting is a study in international taste—the reception pendants by Vibia and the Lobby Bar’s brass fixtures by British brand Pooky Lights. Luxurious upholstery fabrics from CASAMANCE and Limonta Interiors lend tactile warmth throughout the property. The result is a space that feels both sophisticated and inviting.
The Rooms
The 76 guestrooms and suites channel calm, collected luxury. Expect clean silhouettes, tactile natural materials, and a soft palette that mirrors the coastline beyond. Many rooms reveal sweeping Ionian vistas that read like living canvases. The result is a space that feels soothing, stylish, and crafted for lingering. A pillow selection menu exists, too. My room’s balcony served as the perfect place to witness the glowing sunrise.
Food + Drinks
Zardini anchors the property with an open kitchen serving bountiful breakfasts, leisurely lunches, and Mediterranean dinners built around local ingredients. Beginning in 2026, Stià Grill Restaurant will add flame-focused fare to the dining lineup, joined by a relaxed poolside food truck serving bites throughout the day. The convivial Lobby Bar invites mellow moments, while Cicada Pool Bar serves as the resort’s social pulse—daytime beach snacks evolving into nighttime cocktails, live music, seaside soirées, open-air film evenings, and spirited BBQ gatherings. The Dine Around program extends the culinary journey across all three Mar-Bella Collection properties, offering à la carte variety backed by a daily allowance.
Amenities
This all-inclusive, for its intimate size, includes a fair number of options. Indoor and outdoor fitness zones keep movement front and center, while a watersports hub offers SUP boards, canoes, and kayaks. A yacht day on one of the hotel’s catamarans, visiting various isles, including the quaint Antipaxos, was one of the highlights of my trip; the Mar-Bella Collection concierges can arrange the activity seamlessly, from start to finish.
Spa & Wellness Scoop
Wellness unfolds in the open air. Guests can unwind in an outdoor spa kiosk or elevate indulgence with treatments offered directly on the beach, set to the natural rhythm of waves meeting shore. I got a deep tissue massage, and it was exceedingly relaxing.
Location & Neighborhood Recs
In Corfu proper, you will be able to wander the winding cobblestone streets of the Old Town, which is UNESCO-listed and brimming with pastel-colored buildings, hidden squares, and charming cafes. Make sure to soak in the views from the Old and New Fortresses or stroll the elegant Liston Promenade. Pop into Saint Spyridon Church, Mon Repos Palace, or the island’s quirky museums, then fuel up on local specialties like sofrito, pastitsada, and kumquat liqueur while exploring tavernas and kafenions. End the day along the harbor or Garitsa Bay, sipping cocktails, watching the boats, or catching live music in one of the town’s lively bars.
