Set along tree-lined Ben Zion Boulevard, White Villa Tel Aviv occupies a restored 1940s mansion, designed by architect Shmuel Barkai for the Silberstein family. The house remains one of Tel Aviv’s distinctive International Style residences. Today, it’s an 18-room boutique hotel that retains the calm and privacy of the home it once was. The atmosphere is unhurried, and the setting offers a quieter side of the city just steps from its main cultural and commercial streets.
Design + Character
Inspired by Le Corbusier, the building’s restoration respects its clean, modernist lines while adding simple, contemporary furnishings and soft natural tones. White-on-white décor is prevalent here. Italian-made pieces, wood finishes, and light-filled rooms give the villa an easy rhythm. The design is straightforward and well-balanced—open, bright, and practical, with enough character to remind guests of the building’s 1940s origins. It sports simplicity.
The Rooms
Each room has its own layout and style. The Classic Rooms feature queen-sized beds with Egyptian cotton linens, rainfall showers, and custom toiletries in the hotel’s signature scent. Espresso machines, Smart TVs, air conditioning, and safes are standard. The Deluxe Rooms open onto private patios or small gardens and include king or twin beds, large windows, and bathrooms with either an elegant bathtub or a rain shower. Grand Deluxe Rooms blend restored architectural details with modern finishes and include super-king beds, espresso machines, 50-inch Smart TVs, and spacious showers. The three Lofts vary in setting—one overlooks the trees of Ben Zion Boulevard, one is enclosed in glass and filled with daylight, and one faces a private garden. All feature super-king beds, freestanding bathtubs, and double vanities.
The Amenities
White Villa offers a 24-hour front desk and concierge, with multilingual staff available for restaurant bookings and city tips. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi, a small gym, a lounge, a library, and a peaceful garden. There’s also room service, luggage storage, air conditioning, wake-up calls, and a bar for evening drinks. Cribs and babysitting are available on request. The rooftop patio and garden-led front porch encourage taking a moment for yourself.
Food + Drink
Breakfast focuses on quality local ingredients—fresh bread, fruit, vegetables, cheese, and coffee served in the courtyard or dining area. There’s no restaurant, but the neighborhood offers easy access to cafés, bakeries, and casual dining. The staff are happy to make recommendations.
Location + Neighborhood Recs
Located in the heart of Tel Aviv’s UNESCO-listed White City, right on Ben Tsiyon Boulevard, the hotel is within walking distance of Rothschild Boulevard, Habima Square, and Dizengoff’s shops and restaurants. Galleries, theatres, and cafés are nearby, and the beach is about ten minutes away on foot. My favorite area, a 10-minute drive by car yet still in Tel Aviv proper, is Neve Tzedek, specifically Shabazi Street—it’s replete with chic independent Israeli designer-led storefronts, cafes, and galleries.
