Elegance Reigns Supreme at Geneva’s Only All-Suite Hotel, The Woodward

Hotel Snapshot

Geneva doesn’t exactly suffer from a lack of grand hotels, but The Woodward feels different from the jump. Sitting pretty on Quai Wilson, right on Lake Geneva with Mont Blanc looming in the distance, it’s the city’s first all-suite hotel—and refreshingly intimate at just 26 keys. Part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, this Belle Époque beauty has been reworked into something redolent of a chic private residence. It has three Michelin Keys, the city’s only two-Michelin-starred restaurant, and a two-floor spa.

Design & Character

From the outside, The Woodward plays the part of classic Geneva grandeur, situated in a Hausman-style edifice. Inside, architect Pierre-Yves Rochon softens things up with a residential touch: rich woods, custom marquetry, Baccarat chandeliers, and colors pulled straight from the lake and sky outside.

Rooms & Suites

Every room at The Woodward is a suite. Expect generous layouts, fireplaces, walk-in dressing rooms, and well-stocked personal bars across the board. Many suites come with lake views (some with balconies), and a few even have private elevator access for the privacy-minded. The domed Suite Léman is a showstopper, while the Presidential Suite lives up to its name with sprawling terraces.

Food & Drink

The Woodward punches well above its weight in dining. L’Atelier Robuchon is the star attraction—and the only two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Geneva—where counter seating puts you front row for precision-driven, ingredient-forward cooking with subtle global influences. Le Jardinier keeps things lighter and greener, focusing on seasonal produce and elegant French technique, best enjoyed with lake views from the veranda. Bar 37 carries the hotel from day to night with cocktails, live music, and just the right amount of buzz, while a hidden cigar lounge in a former bank vault adds a dash of old-school cool.

Amenities

For a hotel this discreet, The Woodward offers plenty to do—if you want it. The concierge can set up everything from private boat cruises on the lake to vineyard visits, watchmaking workshops, or bespoke jewelry sessions. Back at the hotel, there’s 24-hour in-room dining, polished but friendly service, and a bar scene that draws both guests and locals. It’s luxury without the velvet rope mentality—smooth, social, and refreshingly unshowy.

Spa & Wellness

The Guerlain Spa anchors the experience with six treatment suites (including a couples’ room) and exclusive treatments inspired by nature and the lake itself. Beyond the spa, there’s a standout 21-meter indoor pool, saunas, steam rooms, snow and ice showers, Swedish baths, a whirlpool, and a 24-hour gym. Club Woodward memberships bring in a local crowd, giving the space a relaxed, lived-in feel rather than a hushed hotel-only vibe.

Location

Right on Lake Geneva, The Woodward is walkable to Old Town, Jardin Anglais, and Rue du Rhône’s luxury shopping, while still feeling slightly removed from the city’s bustle.
