Nobu Marrakech Blends Moroccan Grandeur With the Global Cool of the Nobu Brand

Hotel Snapshot

Effortless luxury and authentic hospitality welcome you at every moment of this atmospheric hotel. Sitting in truly the most prized location of Marrakech, you are steps away from the city’s beating heart. There’s comfortability staying in a Nobu hotel: it’s familiar and welcoming. You know there’s always going to be fabulous people-watching. What sets this hotel apart is its striking individuality. It’s embraced all the elements of the brand we globally love while leaning into distinctive Moroccan hospitality.

Design & Character

Unlike the ultra-minimalistic Nobus scattered throughout North America, Nobu Marrakech embraces boldness. It doesn’t adhere to the neutral palettes and soft finishes of the brand. Rather, the hotel is richly adorned with wooden accents and deep reds. It merges Moroccan architecture with nods to the Japanese heritage of the Nobu brand. Natural light floods the hotel’s entrance and, while you’re steps away from the bustling Medina, you feel tucked away in your personal Marrakech sanctuary. There’s a uniqueness to the hotel—still luxurious and decadent, but unlike its OTT neighboring hotels, there’s a friendliness that welcomes you home each time you return.

The Rooms

Comfortable and designed for easy traveling. Notably, the rooms have excessive natural light—a rarity in most city hotels. The 71 guest rooms and suites feature uniform design and all have the signature Nobu bed which, we must say, is renowned for a reason.

The Food & Drink Situation

No surprises here. There’s a very lively Nobu Restaurant that serves all the classics. Given Marrakech’s party vibe, you can expect a live DJ spinning house tunes and flowing Lychee Martinis.

The Rooftop Garden Restaurant is where you will want to spend your lunches. With panoramic views of the city and Atlas Mountains, it’s the perfect place to recharge while still having great vibes courtesy of the day-round DJ.

Each morning, you’ll find yourself kicking the jet lag with a decadent Moroccan breakfast at Galerie. The region’s signature Moroccan Mint Tea is free-flowing, as is the richly stocked breakfast buffet. If you’re looking for a quick bite during the day, you can find all your hotel classics here—from club sandwiches to niçoise salads.

While Morocco is a predominantly Islamic country, there are no restrictions on drinking. The hotel’s Lobby Bar and Nobu Bar & Lounge offer the perfect place to sip refreshing drinks and people-watch. Their mocktails are packed with fresh mint and limes. They definitely lean on the sweeter side (as do all the drinks in Marrakech).

The Amenities

The location and rooftop pool are the main reasons you’re booking a lavish stay at Nobu Marrakech. Offering 360-degree views of the Red City and Atlas Mountains, it’s the place you’ll want to sip sunset drinks or catch a little sun in your cabana. The Rooftop Pool is open to non-guests too, by booking a day pass—which is a pro tip if you’re staying in a Riad in the Medina and are in need of a little glamorous R&R.

The Spa & Wellness Scoop

Naturally, the spa is a destination worth adding to your itinerary. The Pearl Spa embraces all the expected elements of Moroccan wellness and rituals. To kick the jet lag, head straight to the traditional steam baths to be rid of any lingering tiredness. With over 2,000 square meters of serenity, the spa’s treatments are focused on restorative moments. It’s hard to pick from the traditional Hammam experience and a Natura Bissé facial, so you’re best booking both and building a spa day into your itinerary. Morocco is praised for its full-body rituals, so if you’re looking to try something truly unique, it’s worth requesting a treatment you wouldn’t find anywhere else. At times, you’ll find yourself asking, “Is this really happening?”—but hey, that’s what traveling is about. There’s a gym equipped with all the things you need to feel good while traveling, though it’s not a place you’ll spend much of your time—not when the city is bustling with places to explore.

Location & Neighborhood Recs

Checking into the Nobu means you’re in the most conveniently located area of the city. For first-time travelers to Marrakech, this brings a level of ease that’s welcome as you get your bearings in what can be a chaotic city. While you’re located in the heart of the city, don’t be shy to get in a car (the hotel can organize a reliable, inexpensive car service for you) and get outside of the main city area. You’ll find more authentic dining options. Always ask local shop owners where they like to eat—you’ll find yourself dining among locals rather than your New York neighbors. Morocco is known for its homewares and artisanal goods. Head to Sidi Ghanem Industrial District (Menara–Gueliz area)—a creative-industrial zone (15-minute drive from the hotel) that houses some of the best stores. LRNCE Studio is a one-stop shop of one-off goodies you’ll happily check a bag for.
