Hotel Snapshot
Stepping into my room at Casa Tua Hotel Miami Beach felt less like checking into a hotel and more like arriving at owners Miky and Leticia Grendene’s impossibly stylish guest house. Hidden behind wrought-iron gates and lush gardens, the four-suite property sits just steps from the ocean, yet feels entirely removed. In the morning, I walked ten minutes to the beach and found myself in the middle of South Beach’s buzz.
By afternoon, I was back inside what felt like my own private Mediterranean villa—quiet, intimate, and deeply personal. Most travelers know Casa Tua for its iconic restaurant and private club, but far fewer know about the hotel, which feels like a true insider find. You’re either in the know, or you’re not.
Design and Character
Casa Tua has long been synonymous with its restaurant and members’ club, but the hotel is where things feel most special. Founders Miky and Leticia Grendene partnered with Italian architect Michele Bonan to create rooms that are elegant without feeling staged. The aesthetic blends antiques with contemporary pieces, alongside fine art and photography, with thoughtful accents throughout. The stamp of the Grendenes’ impeccable taste is everywhere. The overall effect is warm and layered, yet restrained—never cluttered or overly dramatic. The historic property reads like a Mediterranean villa in the heart of South Beach—refined yet relaxed.
The Rooms
No two rooms are alike, and that’s exactly the point. Mine felt collected over time rather than designed all at once—filled with fine art photography, 19th-century antiques, and custom furniture created with Bonan. There’s a distinctly European sensibility throughout: Italian linens, romantic four-poster beds, and marble bathrooms finished with Waterworks fixtures. Everything feels considered but never overworked—polished, yet easy to settle into.
Food & Drink
Breakfast is included, and it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the stay. A personal chef prepares everything to order—fresh juices pressed on the spot, vibrant fruit plates, warm pastries with small-batch Italian jams, and eggs any way you want them. It’s generous without being too much.
By night, the energy shifts. Even after nearly 25 years, Casa Tua’s restaurant remains one of the hardest tables in Miami, and hotel guests have priority access. The menu leans into Italian classics—beef carpaccio, house-made pastas, grilled branzino, veal Milanese—done with precision. The wine list highlights strong Italian producers, while the cocktails balance timeless and thoughtful—a Venetian spritz or a perfectly stirred Negroni, best enjoyed by candlelight.
Amenities
What Casa Tua lacks in traditional resort amenities, it makes up for in personalization. Room service is available from the restaurant, and reservations are seamlessly handled. Guests also have access to the private members’ club, where a see-and-be-seen crowd is practically guaranteed. A dedicated concierge can arrange everything from beach setups and massages to yacht charters, with thoughtful touches like customized flowers, linens, newspapers, and in-room beverage preferences.
Location & Neighborhood Recs
Set in the heart of Miami Beach, Casa Tua puts you within easy reach of everything in town. Spend the day at the beach, head to the Design District for shopping, or visit Bal Harbour for a luxury retail fix. For culture, the Pérez Art Museum Miami is worth carving out time for, while Little Havana offers a completely different energy- music, food, and late-night dancing included.
