Hotel Snapshot

In Paris’ 17th arrondissement, tucked between Parc Monceau and the Batignolles village, La Fondation emerges as a bold new urban landmark from Groupe Galia. Spanning an ambitious 10,000 square metres, this hybrid destination redefines the idea of a hotel by intertwining hospitality, wellness, dining, work, and culture under one roof. Designed by PCA-STREAM and operated by Terlia, the project transforms a 1960s structure into a living ecosystem where travelers, creatives, and locals intersect naturally.

Whether visiting for a night or an extended stay, guests enter a world that feels as much like a cultural hub as it does a hotel.

Design & Character

La Fondation thrives on contrast: brutalist bones reimagined through a contemporary, art-forward lens. PCA-STREAM preserves the building’s industrial soul, including its raw concrete ramp and monumental volumes, while layering in light, transparency, and rhythm through wood, black metal, and expansive glazing. Inside, Roman & Williams brings warmth and intimacy, softening the scale with tactile materials, sculptural furniture, and a redefined modernist sensibility.

Vegetation threads through every level–green walls, terraces, patios, and a suspended garden by Christophe Gautrand & Associés–turning the entire building into a vertical landscape. Art curated by Amélie Maison d’Art completes the atmosphere, giving the building a constantly evolving creative pulse.

The Rooms

Across seven floors, 55 rooms and three suites offer a quieter counterpoint to the architectural drama. Designed with restraint and intention, each space pairs natural textures with bespoke details that feel personal rather than solely decorative. Handcrafted furnishings, subtle creative interventions, and thoughtful spatial layouts create an ambiance of understated luxury. The suites expand the experience further, opening to sweeping vistas of Paris and a heightened sense of privacy and ease, while maintaining the hotel’s calm, grounded aesthetic.

Food & Drink

The dining concepts at La Fondation unfold as a progression of moods and perspectives. At ground level, La Base brasserie delivers a relaxed, convivial vibe, reworking French classics with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients in a setting electrified by contemporary art. Ascending to Les Ailes promises more elegance and refinement, with Chef Thomas Rossi presenting modern French fare framed by striking views over the city skyline. At The Rooftop, the energy shifts again–more social, more spacious–where global-inspired plates, cocktails, and wine are shared against Parisian panoramas.

Spa & Wellness

The Sports Club and Spa reimagine wellness as a full lifestyle rather than as an add-on amenity. A 25-meter pool anchors a comprehensive fitness universe that includes Technogym training spaces, five dedicated studios, and a diverse weekly program of over 100 classes. A climbing wall injects unexpected vivacity, while expert coaches guide performance and recovery. The spa, featuring Biologique Recherche treatments, provides a more restorative counterbalance, with sauna, hammam, and hydrotherapy circuits to reset body and mind in calm, cocoon-like environs.

The Amenities

Beyond hospitality, La Fondation functions as a dynamic multi-use campus. Flexible workspaces, meeting rooms, terraces, a repurposed parking ramp turned creative corridor, and an auditorium support a blend of professional and creative lifestyles. Layered onto this infrastructure is a vibrant calendar filled with rooftop concerts, talks, exhibitions, dinners, and workshops, positioning the property as a constant stage for exchange and experimentation.

Location & Neighborhood Recs

Set in Batignolles, one of Paris’ most quietly charismatic neighbourhoods, La Fondation offers a more local, lived-in version of the city. Just steps away, Parc Monceau delivers manicured serenity, while nearby streets are lined with artisan bakeries, independent boutiques, and neighborhood cafés. It’s a pocket of Paris that rewards wandering–close enough to major landmarks, yet distinct in its village-like rhythm, where daily life unfolds at an unhurried, distinctly Parisian pace.
